July17, 2025 “Bring Home a Ribbon: Preparing Honey for Show”

Your honey is the best there is, right? Think it’s good enough to win a blue ribbon? This year the Bedford County Fair has expanded its honey show eligibility area to include Campbell County. So, if you are interested in showing off your honey, you will want to attend our July meeting. Ann Zudekoff, Master Beekeeper, honey judge, and winner of a multitude of ribbons for her honey and bee products will give the club a presentation on how to prepare your honey for show.

November 21st, 2019 - Monthly PBA meeting

  • Lynchburg City Public Works Building 1700 Memorial Avenue Lynchburg, VA, 24501 United States (map)

This month, Mark Smith, PBA Club President will be giving a presentation on honeybee cuts and removals from structures. The talk will cover materials needed, types of building construction, what to do with the bees, honey, and honeycomb.

Secondly, we will hold officer elections for the the remainder of the 2019-2020 term as John Powers, PBA Vice President and Mark Smith, PBA President has carried over duties an extra year from their elected 2017-2018 positions. Open officer spots are President, Vice President, and Secretary. Please consider supporting your local beekeeping association and volunteering as we would like to continue to hold monthly meetings.

Lastly, we still need one or two volunteers to help plan our annual Christmas party. This will take minimal time and volunteers are necessary for us to be able to hold the party. Thanks in advance!
