July17, 2025 “Bring Home a Ribbon: Preparing Honey for Show”

Your honey is the best there is, right? Think it’s good enough to win a blue ribbon? This year the Bedford County Fair has expanded its honey show eligibility area to include Campbell County. So, if you are interested in showing off your honey, you will want to attend our July meeting. Ann Zudekoff, Master Beekeeper, honey judge, and winner of a multitude of ribbons for her honey and bee products will give the club a presentation on how to prepare your honey for show.

Piedmont Beekeepers Association monthly meeting - “Fall and Winter Preparation for Colonies”

Next meeting is on Thursday July 18th, 2019 at Lynchburg City Public Works Administration at 1700 Memorial Avenue Lynchburg, Virginia 24501 from 7-9pm. We always say that the meeting lasts until 8pm, but truly it goes until 9pm most meetings. Look for white signs at the street entrance to the Administration building.

Topic is “Fall and Winter Preparation for Colonies”. Hopefully everyone has prepared for mite counts and treatments if needed in the near future (mid-late July), and can start thinking about winter preparations such as low mite counts, healthy queens, strong colonies, preparation feeding, pollen feeding, and more!
